Srinagar, Feb 01 (KNO): At least seven automobile workshops and a residential house were gutted in two separate fire incidents in Srinagar late last night, officials said on Thursday.
An official from Fire and Emergency (F&ES) told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that seven automobile workshops were gutted in a fire at the fruit mandi in Parimpora area last night and a residential house was damaged in another fire incident in Bemina area.
Providing details about the Parimpora incident, the official added that all the shops in Parimpora fruit Mandi, along with a Kharad machine, two welding machines, a generator, Kharad tools, old/new lubricants, stored HSD oil, tea stall items, scrap, and heavy vehicles, were damaged in the fire.
Regarding the Bemina incident, the official added that a four-storied residential house was also damaged in the fire incident at Shahi Hamdan Lane at Bemina in Srinagar.
He said that the fire broke out due to an electric shortcut, and while assessing the damage, the attic portion along with stored home goods, a huge quantity of timber, and books were partially damaged in the fire.
